dear_jessie11:12am: NEW GIRL

Hello everyone.

My name is Jessica, I am an actress living in Hollywood…I’m new to the live journal scene.  I thought this would be a great precursor to an actual website geared towards my acting life.  I NEED COOL FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if you like my bloggy blog…lets be friends.

My experiences are somewhat great and depressing all at the same time.  I have worked in almost every aspect of acting from TV, Film, Print, Commercials (since I was a kid)…I have recently written, produced and starred in two of my own sketch comedy shows here in LA.  I work in the industry first hand now as a personal assistant to a TV actress (I can’t name names, don’t even ask).  One day I’m inspired, the next jaded and ready to pack my bag and move to the middle of nowhere.  My boss is a success story, and she has taught me a lot about the business of acting.  My goal is not to be “famous” … I know a lot of people say it, but I mean it…I have seen first hand what fame is like and it ain’t pretty.  To me acting is an art, and if you’re pathological enough to desire fame, you can have mine.

So to wrap it up…I’m looking for some cool people to befriend…I have a lot to say, and for those of you first starting out your career, I may have some sound advice.

xsilverfox9:35am: Haiku Tunnel
"The lies are mixing with the truth to form a potent new reality"

I caught Haiku Tunnel last week on HBO. I heard of this film previously but it had never really interested, mostly because I didn't know anything it.

Haiku Tunnel is in an office comedy in the vain of Office Space (an overlooked film itself). Josh Kornbluth plays Josh Kornbluth, a temp trying to go "perm" as a secretary to a tax attorney. However, Josh doesn't adapt well to the position and we follow his mistrials as he tries to successfully adapt.

The funniest part of Haiku Tunnel are the rants by Josh about his life, job, and other random things. Overall a very funny film - highly recommened. (it also goes to the top of my dvd-to-buy list)

Welcome to the art house! A new communtiy to discuss the lesser known films.

This is the community for you if...
1. you tell people about a great movie and they tell you they've never heard of it
2. you'd drive over an hour away just to see a movie
3. you see award nominations as a to do list
4. subtitles don't scare you
